The Community Center is the heart of Stardew Valley’s story. A dilapidated building on the north edge of town hides a group of forest spirits — the Junimos — who will restore it room by room if you fill their bundles with specific items. Completing it is optional but rewarding: the final reward is the Greenhouse, one of the most powerful tools in the game.
How bundles work
Enter the Community Center and interact with the golden scroll in each room. Each bundle lists required items; you donate them from your inventory and they are consumed. Most bundles accept a choice (“Any 5 fish”, “One of: Carp, Catfish, Eel”) so you are not forced into the rarest option. Once every bundle in a room is done, that room is restored and the Junimos thank you with a reward.
You must repair the bridge east of the Wizard’s tower (300 wood) to reach the fruits-and-vegetables bundles area, and the Glittering Boulder quest (from the Wizard) unlocks the Mushroom Cave, which helps several bundles.
Crafts Room
Focuses on foraged and artisan goods.
- Spring Foraging: Wild Horseradish, Daffodil, Leek, Dandelion.
- Summer Foraging: Grape, Spice Berry, Sweet Pea.
- Fall Foraging: Common Mushroom, Wild Plum, Hazelnut, Blackberry.
- Winter Foraging: Winter Root, Crystal Fruit, Snow Yam, Crocus.
- Construction: Wood (99), Stone (99), Clay (10), Hardwood (10).
- Exotic Foraging: Coconut, Cactus Fruit, Cave Carrot, Red Mushroom, Purple Mushroom, Maple Syrup, Oak Resin, Pine Tar, Morel, Fiddlehead Fern, Truffle, Wool.
Most of this is free from foraging and tree taps, so the Crafts Room is the easiest early win.
Pantry (the farming room)
Each finished sub-bundle grants a reward; completing all six restores the Greenhouse.
- Spring Crops → Speed-Gro (x20): Parsnip, Green Bean, Cauliflower, Potato (x1 each).
- Summer Crops → Quality Sprinkler: Tomato, Hot Pepper, Blueberry, Melon (x1 each).
- Fall Crops → Bee House: Corn, Eggplant, Pumpkin, Yam (x1 each).
- Quality Crops → Preserves Jar: Parsnip, Melon, Pumpkin, Corn at gold quality (x5 each).
- Animal → Cheese Press: Large Milk, Large Egg (Brown), Large Egg (White), Large Goat Milk, Wool, Duck Egg (x1 each).
- Artisan → Keg: choose any 6 of Truffle Oil, Cloth, Goat Cheese, Cheese, Honey, Jelly, Apple, Apricot, Orange, Peach, Pomegranate, Cherry.
The Pantry takes a full year to finish because of seasonal crops. It is also the room that awards the Greenhouse.
Fish Tank
- River Fish: Sunfish, Catfish, Shad, Tiger Trout (x1 each).
- Lake Fish: Largemouth Bass, Carp, Bullhead, Sturgeon (x1 each).
- Ocean Fish: Sardine, Tuna, Red Snapper, Tilapia (x1 each).
- Night Fishing: Walleye, Bream, Eel (x1 each).
- Crab Pot (choose 5 of 10): Lobster, Crayfish, Crab, Cockle, Mussel, Shrimp, Snail, Periwinkle, Oyster, Clam.
- Specialty Fish: Pufferfish, Ghostfish, Sandfish, Woodskip (x1 each).
Note: the five legendary fish (Crimsonfish, Angler, Legend, Mutant Carp, Glacierfish) are not part of any Community Center bundle — they are optional challenges. The Fish Tank’s reward for completion is a Stardrop from the Fisherman.
Boiler Room
- Blacksmith’s: Copper Bar, Iron Bar, Gold Bar, Iridium Bar.
- Geologist’s: Quartz, Earth Crystal, Fire Quartz, Frozen Tear.
- Adventurer’s: Slime (99), Bat Wing (10), Solar Essence (10), Void Essence (10).
Rewards you with the Minecart, which fast-travels between town, the mines, and the Quarry — a huge time saver.
Bulletin Board
- Chef’s (6 of 6): Maple Syrup, Fiddlehead Fern, Truffle, Poppy, Maki Roll, Fried Egg.
- Field Research (4): Purple Mushroom, Nautilus Shell, Chub, Frozen Geode.
- Enchanter’s (4): Oak Resin, Wine, Rabbit’s Foot, Pomegranate.
- Dye (6 of 6): Red Mushroom, Sea Urchin, Sunflower, Duck Feather, Aquamarine, Red Cabbage.
The Bulletin Board rewards are small perks (a free stable, a recipe) rather than rooms.
Vault
The only room paid in gold rather than items: 2,500 / 5,000 / 10,000 / 25,000g bundles. No items needed — just money. Because it costs 42,500g total, many players do it last, but its reward (bus repair to the Calico Desert) is valuable for cactuses and the Skull Cavern.
Strategy: what to do first
- Crafts Room and Boiler Room first — they are free/cheap and unlock the Minecart.
- Pantry across year one for the Greenhouse.
- Fish Tank and Bulletin Board as you gather.
- Vault whenever gold allows.
- Legendary Fish last, when your gear is strong.
The Joja alternative
If you ignore the Community Center and instead buy a JojaMart membership, you can pay Joja to restore each facility directly — the Minecart, Greenhouse, Bus, and Bridge — without bundles. The Community Center becomes a Joja warehouse. This is faster if you have gold but dislike fishing for legendaries, and it skips the Junimo story. Choose based on whether you want the journey or the reward.
Why the Greenhouse matters
Finishing the Pantry opens the Greenhouse, a 116-tile indoor space that ignores seasons. It is the foundation of every late-game money plan — see the greenhouse guide for layouts. The Community Center is therefore not just story; it is the gateway to the endgame economy.
A recommended completion order
- Crafts Room and Boiler Room first — cheap, often free from foraging and mining, and the Boiler Room’s Minecart reward saves time every day after.
- Pantry across year one for the Greenhouse; it drives the whole economy.
- Fish Tank as fish become available; leave legendary fish for when your gear is strong.
- Bulletin Board for its small perks whenever you happen to have the items.
- Vault last if gold is tight, first if you have spare money and want the desert bus.
- Legendary Fish bundle is the true capstone — attempt it only with Iridium Rod, trap bobbers, and the right season.
If you miss a season
Because bundles need seasonal crops, a missed Strawberry (Spring) means waiting a full year for the Egg Festival again. Plan the Pantry around the calendar: grow each season’s crops even if you do not need the gold, purely to bank the bundle items. The Greenhouse cannot grow every bundle crop (some are season-locked by definition), so the field remains necessary.
Joja versus bundles, revisited
The Joja route skips bundle-hunting entirely and is attractive if you dislike fishing for the legendary fish or lack the patience for exact item lists. It costs more gold and loses the Junimo story, but it reaches the same unlocks. Players optimizing for speed often go Joja; players optimizing for experience go bundles. Both are valid.
Next
After the Greenhouse, move to crop profit strategy and keg vs jar to fill it. The fish guide helps with the Fish Tank.
